More info for Region 5 Members:

Don't forget to renew your membership for Region 5 and NAHJ at www.nahj.org. We are on a yearly accounting system, starting in January. So do it now and you'll get to enjoy a full year of NAHJ membership.

Mark your calendars. We are working on another multimedia seminar at the University of Texas at El Paso on Feb. 20. It's very similar to the curriculm for the seminar at Texas State in San Marcos and same price ($75 for students, $100 for NAHJ Members and $125 for non-members). We will be releasing information online about registration and list of curriculm before the end of January.

Then, a month later at Rice University on March 19-20, we will have a Region 5 Conference. On Friday night, we will have Townhall Meeting addressing the Census, followed on Saturday by an all-day conference. We will have several multimedia worshops and seminars aimed at helping you survive in the business or get started in the industry. There will be a lunchtime keynote speaker talking about the immigration, the Hispanic population and its impact to Houston and Texas. We will charge $40 for students $65 for NAHJ members and $100 non-members.

Of course, the NAHJ Conference will be held in Denver, Colorado this year from June 23-26. We will have our convention at the same time NALEO is having its convention in Denver. If you are one of the first 250 people to register, you'll only pay $250. You can register at www.nahj.org. I promise if you have never been to Denver AKA the Mile HIgh City, you don't want to miss this convention. It is a great convention city and lots of things to do for tourists, including visiting the Rocky Mountains.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook at NAHJ Region 5 and Twitter at NAHJ Region 5. Thanks.
